The story of the companions of the Prophet : Ummu Umarah Nusaibah

Ummu Umarah Nusaibah Noble Woman and Mujahidah

He was Nusaibah bint Ka'ab bin Amr bin Auf bin Auf bin Mabdzul bin Amr bin Ghann from Bani Mazin bin an-Najjar. He married Zaid bin Ashim bin Ka'ab, the father of Hubaib who was killed by Musailamah al-Kadzdzab (false prophet), and after Zaid bin Ashim, he married Ghaziyah bin Amr bin Athiyah, she was one of the friends who attended Bai'at Aqabah and Uhud War.

Nusaibah Radhiyallahu Anhu entered the religion of Allah Ta'ala and knew the nature of war between the Muslims and the polytheists, so he did not see an opportunity for himself to sit idly by and not help this religion.

As-Suyuthi said, "She is a woman who is a great friend, she often participates in wars with the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, treating and treating the injured." Since the day he pledged allegiance to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, he immediately assumed responsibility, took an active role in all opportunities that followed.
Adz-Dzahabi said, "Ummu Umarah (Nusaibah) was present in Aqabah, was present in the battles of Uhud, Hudaibiyah, Hunain, the Battle of Yamamah, she fought jihad and did great things".

From the battle of Uhud, Nusaibah stood up to defend the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam while his children surrounded him with a small group of believers who were so steadfast around the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam.

From Sa'id bin Zaid al-Ansari Radhiyallahu Anhu, "That Umm Sa'ad bint Sa'ad bint ar-Rabi' said, 'I came to Umm Umarah Radhiyallahu Anhu, I said to her, 'Auntie, tell me your story.' replied, 'I went out in the morning to see what the people were doing, I brought a bag of water, I came to the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam who was with his companions, victory and the good wind were with the Muslims. When the Muslims were hit retreated, I joined the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, I plunged directly into the battlefield, I protected him with a sword, I fired arrows until I got injured'.

Umm Sa'ad said, "'I saw a wide and deep wound on his shoulder. I asked him, 'Who did this to you?' Umm Umarah replied, 'Ibn Qami'ah. May Allah humiliate him. When the Muslims were pushed back, the man shouted, 'Show Muhammad to me. I am not safe if he is saved. firmly with the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam against him, he slashed me with this slash, I myself slashed him several times, but the enemy of Allah was wearing double armor."

Thus we can see that Ummu Umarah Radhiyallahu Anhu did not hesitate and did not flinch, did not run back, she took a bold and firm decision, she carried out her decision with a firm heart in accordance with her strong faith and weighed the dangers that threaten Islam.
Indeed, Nusaibah's concern for Islam and Da'wah, her awareness of defending the Prophet Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam was not lower than the attention of men and the noble companions of the Prophet Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam.

A great attitude has been shown when he stays firm in place with few believers, he is firm like a mountain. What can a woman do at a moment greater than what Umm Umarah did? what can men do at a greater moment than what Umm Umarah did? Didn't Ibn Qami'ah who was fully armed with his double armor killed Mush'ab bin Umair, a friend of the mujahid, brave, steadfast and only hoping for a reward from Allah, a martyr and a hero? Hasn't this criminal arrived at the point of control of the Muslim army, he attacked the remnants of the Muslims there and he responded to the attack with his double shield and armor? but Nusaibah Radhiyallahu Anhu this mujahidah woman, confronted him with courage and determination, and finally both of them released swords.

Ibn Qami'ah could not block Umm Umarah's sword slashing, but luckily for her her double armor saved her from death, so she slashed Nusaibah radhiyallahu Anhu on her shoulder with a strong slash so that Umm Ummarah radhiyallahu Anhu got a deep wound. Ya Allah, how did Umm Ummarah Radhiyallahu Anhu continue the war while her deep wound was dripping with blood, so that her palms could be inserted into it?.
The battle of Uhud was over and Umm Umarah was one of the injured victims after she had previously given drinks to the thirsty troops, treated the wounded mujahideen, encouraged them to be patient and steadfast, gave them assistance, and even went straight to the battlefield, so that she deserved the praise of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. 'Alaihi Wasallam when he said to his son, Abdullah bin Zaid bin Ashim,

"Allah bless you as a family, your mother's position is better than so and so and so."

So Ummu Umarah Radhiyallahu Anhu said, "Ya Rasullullah, pray for us so that we can be with you in heaven." The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam prayed,

"Ya Allah, make them those who are with me in heaven."

So Ummu Umarah Radhiyallahu Anhu said, "I don't care anymore (to) what I get from this world. (Narrated by Ibn Sa'ad in ath-Thabaqat, 8/414-415 and Siyar A'lam an-Nubala', 2/281 )

This is Ummu Umarah Nusaibah Radhiyallahu Anhu, a woman who is a preacher and educator, a woman who forms heroes, educates great people, she believes and pledges allegiance to the Prophet sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam, then she is consistent with her allegiance, then she is included in the group the Muslimat who are at the forefront of faith, truth, and steadfastness, laying clear road signs of truth, forms of sacrifice and good examples for Muslims and Muslimat.

May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala be pleased with him and make him happy, and allow Muslims to take an example from him and follow in his footsteps.
