9 relics of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam that still exist today


Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam is such a noble figure in the eyes of Muslims around the world. The story and his actions of spreading Islam as the last prophet we have often heard since childhood when we learned about the religion of Islam.

 

Although he died hundreds of years ago, the results of his efforts to spread Islam have been widely seen by Muslims around the world. Even though his body has passed away, we can still see traces of the body of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam in the form of items that he had during his life.

Slippers

This simple sandal is often called a sandals made of cowhide and consists of two straps. This sandal, which was a silent witness to the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu Alaihu Wasallam, had also been worn during the war and during the Isra' Mi'raj incident!

 

Regarding the use of sandals, the Prophet once conveyed in a hadith to his people, to wear sandals from the right side first.

 

The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi Wasallam said, "If one of you wants to wear sandals, let him start from the right side."


Beard


Next is the beard of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam. The reason why this beard is still there is because the Companions kept these strands when the Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu Alaihi Wasallam shaved.

 

Now, the Prophet's beard is always kept in a glass tube to avoid damage. Once, someone tried to steal the Prophet's beard, but the next day again, the hair came back again, and made the security even tighter.

 


Stick


Al-Saaja stick is a stick left by the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam whose shape is not so straight, but slightly bent. In a narration, the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam also once said for his people who entered the age of 40 years, that they should be circumcised to use a stick.

 

Footmark

 

The relics of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam are footprints. The footprints of this apostle are on display at the Topkapi Palace Museum, Turkey along with the robe he gave to Kaa'b bin Zuhair.

 

According to archaeologists, the footprints were obtained from a rock that accidentally left a mold. This object is quite important for the history of Islam.

 

Because the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. asked to put his feet when he wanted to inaugurate something in the past.


Cup


The cup relic of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam. made of shiny copper. It is medium in size and concave in shape with Middle Eastern carvings in the middle of the cover.

 

This cup was often used by the prophet for many things, from drinking to washing the face. He also carried this cup with him wherever he went.

Cloak


 

The robe that was worn by the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam is made of linen, cotton and silk. Now, this historical object is stored safely in a mosque called Hirka'i Serif in Turkey. The mosque was specially built to store the relics of the Prophet.

 

Based on some narrations, this robe was once given to the figure of Uwais bin al-Qarni who really wanted to meet the Prophet, but Uwais was embarrassed. Therefore, the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, gifted this robe to him through the intermediary of his companions.

 

Turban


Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam liked all colors, however, what he prioritized the most was green. It is also explained in Surah Al-Kahf verse 31 regarding the green color is the clothes of the inhabitants of heaven:


اُولٰۤٮِٕكَ لَهُمۡ جَنّٰتُ عَدۡنٍ تَجۡرِىۡ مِنۡ تَحۡتِهِمُ الۡاَنۡهٰرُ يُحَلَّوۡنَ فِيۡهَا مِنۡ اَسَاوِرَ مِنۡ ذَهَبٍ وَّ يَلۡبَسُوۡنَ ثِيَابًا خُضۡرًا مِّنۡ سُنۡدُسٍ وَّاِسۡتَبۡرَقٍ مُّتَّكِــِٕيۡنَ فِيۡهَا عَلَى الۡاَرَآٮِٕكِ‌ؕ نِعۡمَ الثَّوَابُ ؕ وَحَسُنَتۡ مُرۡتَفَقًا

Meaning: They are (those who) for them paradise Adn, under which rivers flow; in heaven they are decorated with gold bracelets and they are wearing green clothes of fine silk and thick silk, while they are sitting reclining on beautiful couches. That is the best reward, and a beautiful resting place.
